Enigmatick says : now THAT'S some good shit. WHW is hardly underground though, I mean, they're signed to Nuclear Blast, and prior to that, Cruz Del Sur, who are a pretty big label as well. Plus they're revered by metalheads from all around. Not underground by a long shot.

Hell, I Saw their new album at a Sunrise store I went to.

Not majorly known though.

Hmm, might as well post more.

Perhaps I should further clarify why I'm against this thread:

a.) It's a VERY vague topic. What the Hell is "underground metal"? I think everybody has a different perception on it, and as such, we'll get bands from across the board.

b.) It's a pointless list thread. When you get right Down to it, pretty much anything that doesn't have a following like Maiden will be put in this thread, so what this basically is is a "tell us about bands you like!" or, in other words, a glorified "what are you listening to right now?" thread. Plus, nobody seems to bother to actually talk about bands, and I'll let the "rate..." thread slide because at least it gets a bit of discussion going every now and then and people generally post good shit, but two threads? fucking ridiculous. This is just a Wolf in sheep's clothing.

c.) This thread does fucking Nothing for underground metal. You wanna know how to support underground bands? Go to local shows. Review their albums and actually give us strong reasoning as to WHY we should consider these guys a prominent Voice in the underground as opposed to the seas of other bands out there. Hell, just fucking buy their albums- I doubt posting these bands will do anything more than get two, three people to pirate a copy of the album(s) in question online (since, well, usually they're Nothing mindblowing) which if you haven't noticed, does diddly shit. How about we actually support the underground instead of pretending we do.

Enig: Yes fair enough it is a pointless-shit-eating-thread. Point taken. And the thread name is shit. But it gives people a wider recognition of other bands. "rate what the  . . ." doesnt really do that. And yes, your whole arguement is correct. People will pirate their albums and i do shit to help local bands etc. I'm only 16 i cant do much. Plus our Cd Shops are Dog shit and the only metal they have is the mainstream post-hardcore shit, and some DM. Anyway. . .

Merc: Manticora sounded awesome.

Oh, and hey, we've already posted comments/answers just talking shit about this thread. So in a way, you've helped gives this thread a lil bit of hope. . .

Hope... we all need hope

Ok I'm going so underground that I cannot seem to find any of their beats on youtube so checkout Ex Oblivion when you get a chance.

Since I cannot even find a band page for these guys (I have a feeling that there is one but I'm not going to give false infomation) if you come across and album called "The Last Day" by Ex Oblivion, check it out because it's an excellent mix of; Symphonic and light touches of depressive black and gothic metal. They are fast and Brutal as well. This might seem like an overcrowded mix, but this album is high quality and the song Structures are fairly well laid out 0

guys, you do realise that calling 'not majorly known bands' underground is totally not correct, right ? Enigmatick, underground metal is not a matter of perception. Just make an effort and buy a couple of underground metal zines, and read them. not the shitty 'web zines' (and not stuff like metal hammer etc). If you don't know any from you country, I can write Down some polish zines that are in english

I thought that was the exact definition of "underground"

Hmmm? what to you is "underground"? and why do people call stuff mainstream as well?

If you want to check out some of their "Beats", as you put it, Then Follow this link http://www2.mrtzcmp3.net/Ex_Oblivion_1s.html.

Getting onto their stuff, Bands like this with the hoarse BM signature vocals dont really do much for me. But, having said that, i like their sympho touch which gave the song a Opera-type atmosphere. ( I only listened to one song; Dagon)

Hobbs Angel of Death are Australian and have been around for quite some time.

Mainstream is obviously the liked and "socially" accepted bands. Such bands include Metallica (duh), Ac/Dc etc etc

Hobb's is awesome. Miniradman, for me Throneum is a great example of a polish underground metal. They've been active for over 15 years, never sold themselves, music is not their 'work', it's their passion. They are absolutely commited to their music. Polish underground scene is very strict, there is no place for being fake or posers. I've read a freat interviev with Destruktor (from Australia) lately,  they've been talking what underground is for them etc. maybe it is somewhere in the internet. Zines are the gratest source of knowledge, if you can get any, get them

so do you consider there being a place in between mainstream and underground scenes?
